I’m working on getting more hands on experience with a wider variety of dogs in nosework and the unique challenges different breed specific characteristics present. I pulled a group of 6 dogs, some I’m more familiar working with and some less. 2 weren’t quite ready for this run so I pulled them and will do more foundation work with them.
As follows:
Goblin: 20 seconds
Gobbles has been Carter’s main nosework dog and I love getting to borrow him. He’s a working line border collie who started nosework at the same time as Raven. He is so fun to watch
Raven: 6 seconds
Everyone knows Raven. This was a good challenge for her as the largest dog in the group, tight space’s can be intimidating for some dogs. While this particular run didn’t phase her, I’d like her to see this picture more frequently as we haven’t done much small space hides.
Bigby: 6 seconds
Bigby is the star of the class today. goodness I love this little Chihuahua. He has only had a couple hides similar to this under his belt and is the greenest of all our nosework dogs yet he’s a Little Rockstar, I can’t wait to see how he goes with a stronger foundation and technical skills
Epicures (Epi): 14 seconds
I Started Epi awhile back but we haven’t done very much and it shows that she’s a very green dog. I definitely think nosework is something she will do very well with as she progresses. She’s used to the picture being me standing very close when she indicates soo changing that picture confused her. Something we will add with more foundations
